MTU Maintenance Hannover adds V Australia to its GE90 customer list

Hanover, Germany, September 12, 2011 – MTU Maintenance Hannover has been successful in adding a new airline from Australia to its growing customer base: V Australia will send its fleet of GE90 Growth engines powering its Boeing five 777-300ER fleet to Hanover for maintenance. The carrier, a subsidiary of the Virgin Australia group of airlines, has signed a long term agreement with the German engine MRO specialist.

Dr. Stefan Weingartner, MTU Aero Engines President Commercial Maintenance, stated: "V Australia is a key operator in this region of the world. The fact that the airline is part of the renowned Virgin Group means V Australia is an especially valuable customer to us. We have every reason to be proud to have concluded this support contract with V Australia with our maintenance capabilities and proven track record of reliability."

Launched in 2009, V Australia operates from Australia to the United States and the United Arab Emirates with five Boeing 777-300ER aircraft-powered by GE90-115Bs.
