New man at the helm of MTU Maintenance Hannover in Langenhagen

• Dr. Martin Funk succeeds Dr. Uwe Blöcker

Hannover, June 15, 2009 – MTU Maintenance Hannover has a new president and CEO: Dr. Martin Funk (47) has taken over the reigns from Dr. Uwe Blöcker (52), effective Thursday, June 11. Blöcker had been at the helm of the Langenhagen-based company for more than two years and is now
pursuing new challenges outside the MTU Group.

Dr. Martin Funk completed his studies at Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Universität Aachen (RWTH Aachen University) and holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering. Dr. Funk comes from Emcom Technologies, a leader in the global vehicle exhaust emission control technology industry, where he served the role of vice president and general manager for Europe and South Africa since 2007. Before, he had been manufacturing director of Visteon Deutschland GmbH for four years. Visteon Corporation is a global automotive supplier originally formed as a motor parts supplier of Ford Motor Company.

MTU Maintenance Hannover, an MTU Aero Engines affiliate, is the centerpiece of the MTU Maintenance group. The company supports commercial engines in the medium and upper thrust ranges, among them the General  Electric CF6-50 and CF6-80C2, the Pratt & Whitney PW2000, the International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500, and the CFM International CFM56-7. Its new test cell accommodates powerplants of up to 150,000 pounds of thrust.
