MTU Maintenance Canada celebrates opening of new Accessory Repair Centre (A.R.C.)

• Growth of accessory repairs and product portfolio

Vancouver, June 22, 2012 – After a significant increase of its accessory repair business over the past years, MTU Maintenance Canada, a  North American affiliate of MTU Aero Engines  has opened a new Accessory Repair Centre (A.R.C.), allowing the company to offer customers increased accessory repair capabilities and a wider product portfolio. “The new accessory  shop in Vancouver together with the expansion of our services show that MTU Maintenance is increasingly present in the MRO market,” said Dr. Stefan Weingartner, President, Commercial Maintenance at MTU Aero Engines.

Leased from Vancouver Airport Authority, the building has a size of 35,000 square feet and was substantially modified to suit the high MTU standards. A one-stop maintenance service home, the new A.R.C. provides fast and reliable accessory repairs, focussing on fuel components. For this purpose, a new state-of-the-art fuel control test stand was purchased. The A.R.C. supports MTU’s own engine shop and extends its capabilities to also support customers directly. Customers can choose from the entire spectrum of services – from the maintenance and repair of single accessories up to complete LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) management solutions.

MTU Maintenance Canada is located in the immediate vicinity of Vancouver's international airport where it repairs and overhauls engines and accessories and performs engine tests. The first MTU affiliate outside Germany, MTU Maintenance Canada was founded in November 1998 as a joint venture with Canadian Airlines (now Air Canada) and became a wholly owned affiliate of MTU Aero Engines in 2003.
