New General Manager at MTU Maintenance Dallas
| Gernot Sell takes over leadership of site at Fort Worth Alliance Airport
| Facility poised for further growth
Dallas, 28 January, 2025 | MTU Maintenance appointed Gernot Sell General Manager of MTU Maintenance Dallas Inc. effective 1st February, 2025. He takes over from Nezam Moghadassian, who is retiring from the company. The facility completed nearly 300 maintenance events in 2024. In addition to on-site and near-wing services, it is specialized in performing hospital shop visits and quick turns for aero engines, as well as field service for industrial gas turbines. Furthermore, MTU Maintenance Dallas now boasts a certified test cell for CFM56-7B engines and it established a parts warehouse for MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V. in 2024.
“We thank Nezam for all his hard work over the years and wish him all the best and a very happy retirement,” says André Sinanian, SVP and Managing Director MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg and responsible for the operations of MTU’s global on-site and field service network. “We are delighted to have found an experienced replacement in Gernot and look forward to the strategic growth of the facility under his leadership.” Sell has been with MTU Maintenance in various operational positions including in the quality, engineering and value stream departments for over eight years and brings a wealth of leadership experience, including over 10 in various leadership positions in German Air Force flying units.
MTU Maintenance Dallas’ portfolio consists of GE’s CF34-3/-8/-10E, CF6-80C2 and GE90 engines as well as CFMI’s CFM56-3/-5B/7B engine types and the GE LM series industrial gas turbines. It also offers services for Pratt & Whitney’s PW2000 and IAE’s V2500 engines. It holds approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and certifications from multiple other regulatory agencies across the globe. In spring of 2023, MTU Maintenance Dallas moved to a 43,000 square meter facility, which includes an engine test facility with up to 100,000 lbs. of thrust.
