MTU Maintenance bolsters parts supply with Fort Worth warehouse

| Additional spare parts warehouse will support MTU’s global MRO operations

| Perimeter Global Logistics (PGL) will manage day-to-day operations

Amsterdam/Fort Worth, Texas, October 24, 2024 | MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V. (MLS) strengthens its logistics network with the launch of a warehouse for engine spare parts at the MTU Maintenance Dallas facility in Fort Worth. This addition aims to increase availability of new and serviceable engine parts for maintenance customers as well as dispatch speed.

It is the second such facility for the Amsterdam-based leasing and asset management arm of MTU Maintenance, the leading service provider for customized maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions for aero engines. It is meant to further optimize parts supply for MTU’s global network, especially for popular engines such as the CF6-80, CFM56, GE90-110/115B and the V2500. The company has teamed up with Perimeter Global Logistics (PGL), a U.S. American member of The Aerospace Logistics Alliance (TALA), for the daily operations and management of the warehouse.

Patrick Biebel, Managing Director of MTU Maintenance Lease Services, says that having a spare parts facility in North America – strategically located at one of the most important regional cargo hubs – helps MTU to react almost instantaneously to material requests from engine operators, the network’s MRO locations and MTU’s ON-SITEPlus service conducting on- and near-wing workscopes. The company has already been operating a parts warehouse on the outskirts of Amsterdam since 2021, and plans to open a third facility in China in 2025.

“We are now able to dispatch parts to anywhere in the Americas and Europe within 24 hours, or even sooner, after an order comes in. Having that stability is enormously important for our global and regional MRO operations, such as at our subsidiaries in Canada and Brazil, and our growing piece-part business,” Biebel says.

Rajan Sobhani, President at PGL, says that the opening of the Ft. Worth warehouse highlights PGL’s dedication to supporting MLS’s expansion in the U.S. He notes that his company and TALA have the expertise, capabilities and necessary global network to manage MTU's complex logistics requirements.

“We are excited to see our collaboration with MLS and TALA come to fruition at MTU’s Ft. Worth warehouse. It is a transformative logistics project that underscores our dynamic growth and PGL’s commitment to driving success with our partners forward,” Sobhani says, adding that their combined know-how and 24/7 support ensure seamless operations and high-quality service.

MTU Maintenance Lease Services, Perimeter Global Logistics, and TALA have a long track record collaborating on the transport of lease engines and engine stands.
