| Change in the Management Board for Finance and IT as of July 1, 2025
| Katja Garcia Vila receives three-year contract as Chief Financial Officer
Munich, January 23, 2025 | The Supervisory Board of MTU Aero Engines AG has appointed Katja Garcia Vila (52) as the new Chief Financial Officer. She left Continental AG at her own request after 27 years in various roles, including as CFO from 2021 to 2024. At MTU Aero Engines, she will succeed Peter Kameritsch, who is a member of the Executive Board and responsible for finance and IT. Kameritsch (55) has decided not to extend his contract, which runs until the end of the year, in order to focus more on Supervisory Board roles. Before his appointment to the Executive Board in 2018, he held various management positions in the areas of finance, investor relations and strategy within MTU Aero Engines.
Gordon Riske, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: “MTU Aero Engines owes a great debt of gratitude to Peter Kameritsch. As Chief Financial Officer, he has helped shape MTU’s profitable growth path for many years, including the company’s admission to the DAX, Germany’s top stock market index, in 2019. He has earned great trust in the company from the capital markets and played a crucial role in overcoming the financial challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. I have accepted his decision not to stand for a third term with respect and great regret. In Katja Garcia Vila, we have gained a successor with many years of operational experience in corporations and proven financial expertise. With her skills and personality, she will decisively advance the on-going transformation of MTU.”
Peter Kameritsch, outgoing Chief Financial Officer: “In the past financial year and following a challenging period, MTU Aero Engines posted record revenues and earnings and achieved its highest ever share price. I am proud and grateful to have contributed to these successes and to have helped shape MTU over many years in a leadership role. After 25 years with the company and eight years as Chief Financial Officer, I feel the time is right for me to move on to the next phase of my career. In the future, I would like to focus more on mandates on supervisory boards.”
Katja Garcia Vila, designated Chief Financial Officer: “MTU Aero Engines is a highly successful company with excellent future prospects. I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for the trust it has placed in me. Alongside my colleagues on the Executive Board, I am committed to leading MTU into the future and setting the course for continued profitable growth.”
Katja Garcia Vila will join MTU on April 1 and will take over from Peter Kameritsch on July 1, 2025, after a joint transition period.
