Company profile and key figures

The pillars of our success

MTU’s success is based on three crucial pillars: the commercial engine business including OEM and spare parts, the military engine business, and commercial maintenance. That’s where we unleash our considerable talent for innovation and excellence.

Commercial engine business

From business jets to narrowbodies to widebodies—we are represented in all thrust and power categories. Here we can draw on our decades of experience and partnerships with OEMs, both in the OEM business and in maintenance. Our current contracts provide long-term security for our business activities. The commercial engine business accounts for around one-fourth of our total revenue.

In addition, we play a key role in Europe’s most important military engine programs and work closely with our partners in the U.S.—from development to production to maintenance. Our revenue from the military engine business is in the high single-digit percentile range.
