Hannover, April 10, 2019 – MTU Maintenance, the global leader in customized solutions for aero engines, remains committed to its PW2000 engine MRO program for at least another 10 years. In recent months, the company has won contracts valued at more than 700 million U.S. dollars through its excellent, cost-effective solutions.
“Customer demand for MTU’s customized engine MRO solutions remains strong,” says Michael Schreyögg, Chief Program Officer, MTU Aero Engines. “I am delighted that we have secured this volume of contracts. We look forward to providing operators of aging PW2000 engines with the cost-effective solutions they have come to rely on for as long as they fly these engines.”
MTU Maintenance is specialized in creating customized solutions for aero engines. Under its dedicated program for mature engines, the company offers operators of aging engines, such as the PW2000, high-quality and cost-effective solutions for the remaining, planned period of operations. The program focuses on reducing costs through MRO alternatives, such as smart repairs, used parts and customized builds, as well alternatives to MRO, such as engine lease, sale and exchange.
As one of the few MRO providers for this engine type worldwide, MTU Maintenance currently performs around 20 shop visits per year on the PW2000 at its facility in Hannover, Germany. Since the program was introduced in 1988, MTU Maintenance has performed over 650 shop visits.
