MTU Maintenance Dallas Inc.
Located at the Fort Worth Alliance Airport near Dallas, Texas, the site is MTU Maintenance’s main hub for ON-SITEPlus services in North America and will be developed from an on-site service center to a full disassembly, assembly and test facility. It will also be one of only six exclusive Premier MRO service providers for LEAP engines in the world. LEAP-1A engines power the Airbus A320neo family, while LEAP-1B engines power the Boeing 737 MAX family. MTU Maintenance’s facility in Fort Worth is working on meeting all requirements for LEAP engine inductions in the coming years and will be supported by MTU’s vast network and capabilities during ramp up.
MTU will also be introducing full overhaul capability for GEnx engines, expanding its contribution to the engine programs aftermarket network significantly. The new long-term GE Aerospace Branded Services Agreement (GBSA) enables MTU Maintenance Dallas to serve as an authorized service provider for GEnx engines with highest level of training and support, as well as greater access to proprietary overhaul and repair technology.
The mobile on-site service team is able to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: borescope inspections, on-wing and near-wing engine repairs, and hospital shop visits for minor repairs. The on-site service portfolio consists of GE’s CF34-8/-10E, CF6-80C2/-E1 and GE90 engines, LEAP engines, as well as CFMI’s CFM56-5B/-7B engine types. In addition, it offers services for Pratt & Whitney’s PW2000 and IAE’s V2500 engines.
In spring of 2023, MTU Maintenance Dallas moved to a 43,000 square meters facility, which will include an engine test facility with up to 100,000 lbf of thrust.
