MTU Maintenance Zhuhai Co. Ltd.

Located in the Zhuhai Free Trade Zone, our Chinese MRO facility is a 50/50 joint venture between MTU Aero Engines and China Southern Airlines. China Southern is Asia’s largest airline in terms of fleet size and number of passengers carried and the only Chinese carrier ranking among the top five airlines in the world.

The location specializes in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of IAE’s V2500-A5 and Pratt & Whitney’s PW1100G-JM engine, in addition to CFMI’s CFM56-5B/-7B and LEAP engines. MTU Maintenance is China’s market leader for engine MRO services and can perform up to 450 shop visits a year.

New branch in Jinwan brings additional capacity for GTF engines

Since March 2025, the additional site of MTU Maintenance Zhuhai in Jinwan has been in operation. It will focus on Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines and have a yearly capacity of up to 260 engine shop visits annually once ramped up.

Combined with its main site, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai, which lies just 20 kilometers away, it aims to be the largest maintenance repair and overhaul facility in the world, with a capacity of over 700 shop visits.
