Outstanding sustainability performance
MTU Aero Engines AG's sustainability management covers the entire value chain. Both upstream and downstream processes are considered – focusing on topics such as sustainable procurement and the circular economy in particular. Emission free flight and our contribution to these technological developments is at the center of our sustainability strategy.
Two leading rating agencies confirmed MTU's above-average sustainability performance in January 2024: ISS ESG Corporate Rating awarded MTU the Prime label for industry leader, and EcoVadis awarded MTU the silver medal.
"We take part in the ratings and assessments every year, which gives us a good idea of where we stand regarding our sustainability performance," says Lars Wagner, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) of MTU. "The ratings also give us valuable information on how we can improve further."

ISS ESG
MTU Aero Engines was awarded Prime Status (C+) for its Corporate Responsibility performance.
STOXX ESG Leader Indices
MTU has been listed in these equity indices, which offer a representation of the leading global companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria, since 2014.
CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project)
MTU has for years been participating in this carbon accounting initiative and has submitted annual environmental statements. 2022 we have received score B.
EcoVadis
MTU received a silver medal in this holistic corporate responsibility rating.
