27.07.2010 | Positive first-half-year business results – MTU Aero Engines lifts forecast
MTU Aero Engines Holding AG has posted successful results for the first six months of 2010, with revenues amounting to € 1,348.8 million, compared with first-half-year revenues of € 1,376.0 million in 2009. Operating profit has improved by 5% to € 144.1 million (1-6/09: € 137.1 million). At 10.7%, the EBIT margin is 0.7 percentage points higher than the figure for the equivalent period one year earlier. Net income increased by 9% from € 55.7 million in the first six months of 2009 to € 60.6 million. The net income figure reflects the lower financial result attributable to currency translation differences at the reporting date.

MTU Maintenance Hannover has expanded its repair capabilities by including GE’s GE90-110B and -115B engines in its portfolio. Dr. Stefan Weingartner, President and CEO Commercial Maintenance at MTU Aero Engines, said: "With the addition of these propulsion systems for wide-body aircraft, which are sold successfully across the globe, we are broadening our Hannover-based facility's range of products and services."
